RESEARCH + PRACTICE
Vaughan studied Interior Design and a Masters of Architecture at RMIT. He has worked at a number of Melbourne design offices, including David Lancashire Design and Oculus landscape architects. He currently practices as an interior designer/graduate architect at BKK Architects, having worked there for a number of years previously as an architectural model-maker. Vaughan has gained experience across a range of project scales, from master planning to multi-residential to interiors.
Vaughan’s own research centers on the making process, and an engagement with materials through hand making. On the one hand fascinated by traditional craft techniques, Vaughan’s work also considers the possibilities of digital modeling and fabrication technologies, and the potential for new hybrid forms of making.
