RESEARCH + PRACTICE
Millie Cattlin is a designer and architect, having completed a Bachelor of Design with Honours (Interior Design) and a Master of Architecture at RMIT University. She has taught sessionally in the Architecture and Design Department at RMIT and worked in the architecture industry for six years prior to starting and co-directing These Are The Projects We Do Together (The Projects) with her partner, Joseph Norster.
The Projects work predominantly in the public realm, with a particular interest in temporary projects and installations that utilise lighting and projection as integral parts of design outcomes.
Since beginning the practice in 2009, The Projects has worked successfully with many organisations on public events and installations including Arts Victoria, Federation Square, City of Melbourne, Museums Victoria, National Gallery of Victoria, Sydney Festival, Darwin Festival, White Night Melbourne as well as numerous local councils throughout Australia.
“We believe in the importance of non-commercial civic space, freely and equally enjoyed by all citizens. Our projects are small experiments, driven by these ideas.”
