Site as a Verb
Do we create site from objects or do objects dictate the way we design? 'Site as a Verb' is an exhibition that critiques and discusses the issues around domesticity, including the female role within the home and the home as a museum. The Western construct of the domestic interior is at the heart of many societal concerns; women continue to do two-thirds of household work and while some objects hold value and are displayed proudly within the home, others are not. Instead these objects are quickly discarded, causing environmental burdens. 'Site as a Verb' aims to establish meaning and narrative between people and objects to bridge these situational gaps, and in much the same way as language, site can become a tool for communication.
