Kim Victoria Wearne
RESEARCH + PRACTICE
Designer Kim Victoria Wearne draws inspiration from the stark and fascinating Australian landscape, geological topographies and the curious artefacts of ancient civilisations. With a love of artisanal handcrafts, Kim creates precious and semi-precious jewellery collections, both beautiful and original.
Originally self-taught, Kim honed her craft with a Bachelor of Fine Art from RMIT in Gold and Silversmithing. Armed with a degree in Interior Design, Kim has developed a label that balances conceptual practice and quality craftsmanship.
Kim’s collections have received local acclaim in solo and group exhibitions at Pieces of Eight gallery, several installations at Melbourne’s Alice Euphemia boutique, and an Art Start grant to further her study of opals in Coober Pedy. She has recently established ‘Real Job Studios’, a multidisciplinary co-op studio space in Brunswick East.
