RESEARCH + PRACTICE
Katie Collins is a Melbourne based maker of jewellery and objects. She is a graduate of RMIT, completing bachelor honours degrees in both Interior Design and Fine Art, specialising in Gold and Silversmithing.
Currently her practice centres on the making of jewellery and object with an interest in materiality and detail. Her pieces aim to explore notions of the activation of objects and qualities of engagement through movement. With a focus on the transformation of objects, pieces open, unfurl and reveal, engaging the viewer through a process of discovery.
Katie produces her work for exhibition and has shown in galleries in Australia and internationally.
