Jen Berean


Jen Berean is an artist and architect. Her collaborative practice with artist Pat Foster was established in 2001 and together they have exhibited extensively both in Australia and Internationally. Their work is broadly focused on the relationship between art, the urban environment, architecture and design and primarily manifests as sculpture and installation.

Solo exhibitions of their work have been held at Evelyn Yard (London), MUMA, Neon Parc, Murray White Room, CCP and TCB (Melbourne). They have been included in group exhibitions at The Art Gallery of South Australia, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Rowhill Mansions (London) and the Australian Embassy, (Washington DC). They have undertaken numerous residencies including the Australia Council residency at the ISCP, New York; Monash University Prato Visual Arts Residency, Fire station Studios, Dublin and held a studio at 200 Gertrude Street, Melbourne.

Jen is also an Architectural Designer at Grimshaw where she has worked on projects including Phase 2 of the Second Avenue Subway in New York, Newark International Airport and Brisbane Cross River Rail. Prior to working for Grimshaw she was focused on residential and commercial interiors with OMAS:WORKS, New York and Herbert & Mason, Melbourne.
