To Build is to Foster:
Furniture design as a medium for connectivity

Furniture design can play a key role in building better connections with our surroundings and each other. It has the potential to educate, inform, and bring awareness into our way of life that can lead to improving our quality of life.
This design research has explored the idea of connectivity through a series of projects that stimulate certain choices and actions by the participants according to their needs. The major project, situated at the Penrose Promenade Community Centre in Melbourne’s western suburbs, utilises furniture design as a medium of connectivity in a bid to activate and enhance the physical design and functionality of this space.
