Making Place: Object as place making
‘Making Place: Object as place making' is an explorative project that challenges the notion of boundaries in relation to place. This project is designed to set up different types of behaviours and encounters for people through the use of illuminate objects that activate in response to the human body. Through the use of typologies, specifically corners, corridors and thoroughfares, objects can be used to produce stronger connections between people and place. Using conditions of waiting, movement and gathering specifically in relation to time, places can be activated through the use of the object and the body. This design practice uses the making of objects to challenge the notion of the interior as nomadic and ephemeral.
