Alison Loader

Ali is a Lighting Designer with the internationally recognised and awarded architectural lighting design consultancy, Electrolight. Ali’s passion projects stem from her strong foundation in the visual and performing arts. Greatly influenced by the work of artists such as James Turrell, Robert Irwin and Olafur Eliasson, Ali is drawn to immersive environments that embody the transient, elusive and mesmerising characteristics of light.

Since graduating with 1st class honours from RMIT’s Bachelor of Design (Interior) in 2011, Ali further complimented her studies in Lighting Design and Engineering, gaining technical recognition with the Illumination Engineer’s Society (IES).

Now one of a small team of six designers in the Melbourne office, Ali’s daily practice involves the delivery of projects across a broad spectrum of applications and scales; from large-scale public spaces, five to seven star hotels, commercial complexes, bridges and sculptural installations, to more intimate retail interiors, hospitality and residential spaces.
